Cook Vieux-Port Steakhouse

The Vieux-Port Steakhouse is an institution. For over 30 years we have been serving quality cuts of meat cooked to perfection. Warm service in a classic setting is a formula that will charm you for sure. With nearly 1,000 seats and one of the most beautiful terraces in Old Montreal, we are also the place of choice for private events and wedding receptions.

The cook assists the sous-chef by performing various tasks in the preparation of dishes, sauces and the general organization of the kitchen. This includes setting up of the kitchen, preparing dishes, assembling the plates and ensures a clean work environment.

Essential functions of the job:

• Prepares the ingredients necessary for the preparation of the dishes;
• Sets up the work station in anticipation of the various services;
• Prepares, cooks and seasons dishes in accordance with the recipes and applying the appropriate techniques;
• Assembles the plates while ensuring compliance with the standard of presentation of the dishes;
• Maintains storage and food preparation spaces;
• Applies hygiene and sanitation standards;
• Implements occupational health and safety standards;
• Performs any other tasks necessary for the proper functioning of the kitchen.

Qualifications and skills required:

• DEP in establishment kitchen;
• 2-3 years of experience, ideally in a high-volume context;
• Marked interest in teamwork;
• Thoroughness
• Ability to react well under pressure;
• Organizational skills.
