Reception Director

Under the supervision of the General Manager, the candidate sought is dynamic and creative and fosters an inspiring and proactive work environment. He/she will ensure that a high level of service is provided to guests through effective management and proper planning of reception activities. Demonstrates strong listening skills and empathy in interactions with guests and team members. He/she ensures the evolution of customer service standards and their application by providing his/her team members with the necessary supervision and support to carry out their work properly.
Essential Job Functions :
- Coordinates and directs all front desk activities (Concierge, Valet and Front Desk);
- Coach, support, motivate and engage his/her team;
- Establish and maintain close working relationships with all hotel departments to ensure maximum cooperation and productivity.
- Establish a culture of discretion and ensure guest confidentiality is respected;
- Ensure guest satisfaction during and after service delivery;
- Ensure that all service areas have all the necessary work tools for the proper functioning of the reception department (computer system, etc.);
- Participate in management meetings;
- Produce various reports;
- Ensure compliance with policies/procedures established by management related to reception and service for his/her department;
- Work in conjunction with the Reservations and Revenue departments to maximize occupancy and revenue;
- Responsible for the recruitment of qualified staff;
- Establish work schedules as needed;
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in a similar position;
- Positive and inspirational leadership;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills including the ability to prioritize self and team members;
- Ability to creatively and professionally manage unexpected situations;
- Ability to delegate;
- High level of professionalism and integrity;
- Excellent oral and written bilingualism
- Excellent communication skills;
- Excellent knowledge of hotel management software (Opera, an asset);
- Good knowledge of the Office Suite;
- Basic knowledge of revenue management;
- Flexibility in terms of schedules (day, evening and weekends);
