Service assistant Vieux-Port Steakhouse

The service assistant is the link between the kitchen and the dining room area. They make sure of the right presentation of the plates and proceed to the service of the dishes according to the instructions of the waiter. They collaborate with the other members of the team to offer an exceptional service and a fine-dining experience to all guests.

Essential functions of the job:

• Assists the waiter with the correct setting up of the dining area and the passe before the beginning of the service,
• Ensures a continuous follow-up of the orders getting prepared in order to avoid delays and errors,
• Has an advanced knowledge of products used to ensure a fast and precise service,
• Cleans the plates before service when doing the visual inspection of the dishes,
• Serves the orders according to the waiter’s instructions,
• Inquires about the guests’ satisfaction whenever they have the opportunity,
• Answers all the guests’ requests,
• Keeps a clean workstation and dining room area,
• Works in collaboration with the kitchen and dining room teams to ensure efficient and excellent service to the guests,
• Completes all other tasks necessary to the offer an exceptional service in the dining room.

Qualifications and skills required:

• 1-2 years of experience in a similar position,
• Training in restaurant service or in a kitchen (a plus),
• Developed stress management and priority management,
• Leadership and communication skills,
• Independence and sense of initiative,
• Be available for evening and weekend shifts.
