Inspired by American bistros and steakhouses and Montreal vibrant culinary scene, Maggie Oakes is a modern grill seating 180 people and putting local vegetables to the storefront of its cuisine. The restaurant is equipped with an impressive dry-aging meat cooler, a glass wine cellar with an inspiring selection as well as a plant wall lined with fresh herbs and shoots.
Maggie Oakes Restaurant is now looking for a new Director. Passion for the food service industry is essential for this position. The candidate will know how to make unique each and every experience for the guests by successfully combining trendy cuisine and exceptional service. This person is a leader with a hands-on approach, who knows how to communicate his vision and expectations in a positive manner with the team.
Tasks that you will do regularly:
- Welcome in a warm and professional manner all guests and ensure their satisfaction during each visit;
- Maintain good relations with regular clients and create customer loyalty with new ones;
- Hire, train, inspire and motivate the service team members and create high standards of service with their help;
- Reach and exceed set operational objectives;
- Manage human resources, organize the schedules and manage team performances;
- Establish a positive and motivating workplace as to promote teamwork and interdepartmental relations within the restaurant and the hotel;
- Participate in projects to optimize the success of the bar and personalized cocktails.
Our ideal candidate :
- 3 to 5 years of passionate experience in high volume restaurant management;
- Wine connoisseur who loves to share his passion
- Natural-born leader who is a team player;
- Ambitious manager ready to push the limits even further with the well-being of his team and clients in mind
- Priority management, organisation and adaptation are his second nature;
- To be bilingual is essential;
- No secrets here: must be available days, evenings and weekends;
- Must have a good knowledge of restaurant computer programs (Micros and Opentable, an asset);
- Hospitality and restaurant training is an asset.
